Nikon D5300 Lens Recommendations

1. Nikon AF-P Kitlens 18-55mm f3.5-5.6
Or the Nikon AFS 18-105mm
If you really need a one lens setup and you're just starting out i would suggest getting the 18-105 for more general use and you will have a decent zoom lens as well. But if you're gonna do some video recording as well, you might want to consider the AFP Version of kitlens because the AFP motor is more silent than the OLD AFS. Both Are good lens for beginners, i have the AFP 18-55mm for my travel and group shoots. The VR Vibration Reduction helps as well in low light and video mode.

2. Nikkor 50mm F1.8G FX lens ( 75mm equivalent on a DX Body )
Good for Portrait Photography because its close to a 85mm.
Sometimes this 50mm can be tight for some events and you will find yourself backing up more
just to frame a decent shot. But if you work outdoors portraiture this lens is for you.
Creamy bokeh as well compared to the 35mm below.

3. Nikkor 35mm F1.8G DX Lens ( 50mm equivalent )
Great for group, portraits events if you got limited space to work with.
